The Department of Special Education announced that Jeanne Boyle, Chicago field base and student teaching coordinator, will be retiring at the end of July.

After more than 21 years of service here at Illinois State University, Boyle will be greatly missed by colleagues and school partners, as well as teacher candidates. Over the years her guidance has been invaluable, and she has played an intricate role in the development of many Chicagoland teachers/candidates. The department sincerely wishes her the best in her future endeavors.

“We will miss Jeanne’s wisdom and her passion for special education teacher preparation. I am honored to have worked with and learned from Jeanne,” said Kelli Appel, the department’s assistant to the chair.
