New International Student Orientation will begin at 8:30a.m. Monday, August 11, in the Marilyn M. Boyd International House (105 Vrooman Center).

During orientation week, international students will meet with other students, professors, and members of the community. They will also learn essential information pertaining to their academics and life on campus, tour the campus and community, receive immunizations, finalize class registration, get their student ID card, set up their Illinois State email account, and shop for books and supplies.

Here is a tentative schedule of events:

Monday, August 11

8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Check-In and Immigration (mandatory)

(Students should bring their housing/dining deposit, passport, visa, and I-20 or DS-2019 forms.)

5:30 p.m.–8 p.m., Dinner and Shopping (optional)

 

Tuesday, August 12

8:30 a.m.–noon, Check-In and Immigration (mandatory if not already completed)

(Students should bring their housing/dining deposit, passport, visa, and I-20 or DS-2019 forms.)

1–4 p.m., Information Session: Immigration (mandatory)

1–4 p.m., Information Session: Services (mandatory)

5:30–8 p.m., Dinner and Shopping (optional)

 

Wednesday, August 13

8:30 a.m.–noon, Information Session:  Immigration (mandatory if not already completed)

8:30 a.m.–noon, Information Session: Services (mandatory if not already completed)

1–4 p.m., Late Check-In and Immigration (mandatory if not already completed)

(Students should bring their housing/dining deposit, passport, visa, and I-20 or DS-2019 forms.)

6–8 p.m. Welcome Reception (mandatory)
