Whether you made a New Year’s resolution to get fit this year or are just looking for some fun this semester, the Group Fitness program in Campus Recreation has you covered. With more than 70 classes in a variety of formats on the spring semester schedule, you’re sure to find something to fit your interests.

As always, classes are a part of your membership to the Student Fitness Center, which is included in your student fees. So start your semester off right with one of your favorites or try something new like Lower Body Burnout. This 30-minute express class will help you enhance your lower body training and strengthen and tone your glutes, hips, and legs. We’ve also added a Women’s Weight Lifting class to the regular schedule this semester. Our personal trainers will lead this free circuit-based weight training class on Mondays and Tuesdays, instructing participants on proper lifting form. Then, on Wednesdays through Fridays, you can put what you learned into action on your own in a non-intimidating atmosphere with female specific hours in the first floor fitness area. Check the schedule for these and the many other classes we offer.

Group Fitness also offers a full slate of specialty classes this semester. Learn a skill to help you land a job with Campus Recreation or elsewhere in the fitness industry by signing up for either the American Council on Exercise (ACE) Personal Training Prep Course or ACE Group Fitness Instructor Course. Cost for either course is $50.  We will also have several free classes offered throughout the semester including Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga, Rock Spin, and Finals Relaxation Yoga to wrap up the school year.

Don’t let the semester pass you by. Try something new with Group Fitness!
