Archana Shekara of the School of Art will be the speaker for the next University Club (U-Club) meeting at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, in the Faculty/Staff Commons of the Bone Student Center.

Shekara, an assistant professor of art, will discuss the interaction of Indian culture and identity with American culture. Much of her research focuses on cultural identity in graphic design.

She holds an M.F.A. in graphic design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a B.F.A. in painting from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Prior to teaching, she worked in several design studios creating projects for diverse clients.
