Department of Technology alum Michael Thornton ’10, M.S. ’13, has received the Dr. Clois E. Kicklighter Doctoral Student Scholarship Award.

The scholarship program provides $2,500 scholarship awards to recipients planning for a career in technology, applied technology, engineering technology, or a technology-related discipline and who have been accepted in a doctoral level program designed to prepare for that career.

Thornton earned his bachelor’s degree in technology education and his master’s degree in project management from Illinois State. He continued with doctoral studies at Iowa State University.

Thornton received the award in November at the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering Conference in St. Louis.
