Whether you start off the semester with your favorite group fitness class from last year or try something new, there are plenty of ways to stay active with Campus Recreation’s Fitness program.

Our group fitness schedule is packed with a wide variety of classes in several formats such as cardiovascular, mind-body, and strength.  You’re sure to find one that fits both your fitness goals and your schedule, and everyone is encouraged to modify any course to fit their needs.

If you’re looking to shake things up this semester, be sure to venture up to the latest addition to the Student Fitness Center, our third floor HIIT Zone.  This area was created as an area for High Intensity Interval Training, and offers several pieces of equipment for these types of workouts.  If you don’t know how to get started, there will also be Workouts of the Day (or WOD’s) posted on the digital screen.

The Fitness program is also offering several small group training courses that will utilize the HIIT Zone and other areas of the SFC, and will provide the fun of working out with the support of a group atmosphere.  Our RB 500 classes are offered in four week and eight week increments, and will help you learn functional training techniques and provide an efficient workout.  The Women’s Weight Training Course  will stress the benefits of resistance training, and the Couch to 5K will provide new runners with the tools they need to participate in their first 5K.

Make this semester a great one, and find new ways to ACTIVATE.  For more information about any of these classes, call (309) 438-3887.
