ReggieNet courses start May 19

New to ReggieNet? Need a refresher? There is no time like the present to sign up for ReggieNet courses.

The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology will offer courses focusing on different aspects of ReggieNet, such as Assessments, Communication, Content and Organization, and Migrating Content form Modules to ReggieNet. Introduction to ReggieNet is a prerequisite for most of these courses. Take this chance to get the full experience and brush up on your ReggieNet skills. Courses start May 19. Registration is required.

Introduction to ReggieNet
Tuesday, May 19 • 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

Get a complete tour of the Illinois State learning system and its popular tools. Gain valuable ideas about ways to enhance your students’ learning experience. You will leave this workshop with the basic skills to add learning materials, activities, and assessments to your individualized ReggieNet course site. Registration is required.

ReggieNet: Assessments
Thursday, May 21 • 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

This workshop will cover the assessment tools available in ReggieNet, including Tests & Quizzes, Assignments, and File Drop. Explore the options available for different types of assessment, the limitations of the assessment tools, and instructional strategies for promoting academic integrity. Prerequisite: Introduction to ReggieNet. Registration is required.

ReggieNet: Communication
Tuesday, May 26 • 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

Learn how the communication tools provided with ReggieNet can be used to encourage student interaction. You will be introduced to Discussion, Discussion Forums, Chat Rooms, Course Mail, and the Email Tool. You will also learn how to choose the right tool for specific instructional situations. Prerequisite: Introduction to ReggieNet.

ReggieNet: Content and Organization
Thursday, May 28 • 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

Explore several ways to organize course materials in ReggieNet, including the Lesson Builder and Calendar tools. You will also learn how to integrate multimedia content. This course will also briefly discuss organizing content in other ReggieNet features, such as the Resources and Materials and Web Content tools. Prerequisite: Introduction to ReggieNet.

ReggieNet: Migrating Content from Modules to Lesson Builder
Tuesday, June 9 • 10–11 a.m.

This workshop will teach you the basics of the Lesson Builder tool in ReggieNet, which will replace the Modules tool for classes starting in spring 2016. Learn how to copy content from the Modules tool over to the Lesson Builder tool. Discover how to design lessons that require students to complete prerequisites before they can proceed to the next stage. It is easy to integrate multimedia content with this tool. Registration is required.
